# Zooming

> Zoom markers let you add and adjust zoom effects to highlight key parts of your video, with customizable levels and easy timeline control.

Section: Help Center › Effects & Styling

Zoom markers in VideoScripter allow you to dynamically focus on specific parts of your video by zooming in and out during playback. This feature is especially useful for highlighting details or drawing attention to key elements in your video content.

## Adding and Adjusting Zoom Markers
- To add a zoom marker, go to the point in the Editor where you want the zoom effect to begin. Click the **+** button on the left, then select **Add zoom**.

- **Custom Zoom**: For more precise control, use the slider to adjust the zoom level to your exact preference. The zoom level will be displayed on the marker, so you can see the effect in real-time.
- **Zoom Out:** To zoom out, simply add a Zoom marker and set it to **1x**.

## Moving Zoom Markers
- You can adjust the position of the zoom marker by dragging it along the script timeline. This allows you to fine-tune the timing of your zoom effects to match your narration or visual cues.

## Manual Zoom Target
- By default, the zoom automatically follows mouse movements, clicks, and typing. If you want to control exactly which part of the screen is zoomed, you can switch to manual mode.
- Click **Manual** in the zoom window, then drag the **purple dot** to set the zoom focus area.
- To return to automatic zoom behavior, select **Auto**.

## Removing Zoom Markers
- If you no longer need a zoom effect, simply delete the marker using the backspace key in the script or by pressing the red trash icon in the zoom popup.

## Tips
Zoom markers provide a powerful way to guide your audience's attention, helping emphasize specific parts of your video so important details aren't missed. You can also highlight areas of a recording using the **Highlight** feature.
